merge midwest opportunity zone fund

what is an opportunity zone?

Opportunity Zones are a new community development program established by Congress in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 to encourage long-term investments in low-income urban and rural communities nationwide. The Opportunity Zones program provides a tax incentive for investors to re-invest their unrealized capital gains into Opportunity Funds that are dedicated to investing into Opportunity Zones designated by the chief executives of every U.S. state and territory.

We believe this is one of the most beneficial development initiatives to midwest communities in decades. Learn how Merge can help your community take advantage of this opportunity.

Opportunity zones have high need as well as proven growth potential. The country’s Opportunity Zones already contain 24 million jobs and 1.6 million places of business. Many communities can harness some positive momentum as well: Three-quarters of opportunity zones are located in zip codes that experienced at least some level of post-recession employment growth from 2011 to 2015.
